Arched straw halls - a modern agricultural hall system for storage
Agricultural halls and roofing
Agricultural halls and roofing are systems that allow for the rapid construction of warehouses for straw bales or crops, roofing for agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as shelters and shading necessary for animal husbandry. They can be constructed as non-permanent structures, bypassing the need for a building permit.
Halls for straw are structures made of steel arches and bracing, covered with a waterproof plastic material. The structure is designed to be anchored in the ground or installed on concrete slabs. The outer cladding provides a complete seal against rainwater, protecting the straw from weather conditions and allowing it to be stored for a long time.
Arched halls for straw
Arched halls are an innovative and economical solution for storing straw and other agricultural materials. Thanks to their lightweight yet durable construction, they provide excellent protection against weather conditions while allowing for quick and easy assembly. They are ideal not only for storing straw but also for feed, agricultural machinery, or fertilizers. Arched halls are a modern and functional solution for farmers who value efficiency and durability in storage.
Advantages of GRIMAR’s arched halls for straw compared to other solutions
- Construction from hot-dip galvanized pipes (a more durable solution than electro-galvanization).
- Mechanical cladding tensioning system and all screw fasteners made of stainless steel. The rigid mounting and tensioning of the material extends its lifespan and eliminates the waving effect of the PVC material. Non-durable elements—such as strap tensioners, plastic ropes, and electro-galvanized screws and battens—have been eliminated.
- The option to use translucent material (milky white) or skylights—at no extra charge. The cladding is made of PVC materials resistant to biological corrosion, which are certified and of European production.
- Installation of the structure on a rigid steel foundation beam—this increases installation accuracy, stabilizes the structure, and helps maintain a constant foundation level.
- Use of strong, self-locking ground anchors driven to a depth of 3.0 to 4.0 m (instead of simple rods driven into the ground).
- Effective ventilation to prevent dampness and mold.
- Lower construction and operating costs compared to traditional warehouses.
