What is tunnel composting?
Tunnel composting facilities allow for the processing of green waste, biodegradable waste from selective collection, and sewage sludge. Tunnel composting facilities are built as modular structures, allowing the composting process to be carried out in different stages with the possibility of modular expansion of the facility. The COMPObox technology eliminates the generation of unpleasant odors while ensuring ideal compost quality.
The roofs are made as an arched structure of closed profiles entirely coated with a hot-dip galvanized coating, with no mechanical processing. All assembly joints are made using A2/A4 stainless steel.
What are bioreactors?
Bioreactors are devices or systems that enable biological processes to be carried out under controlled conditions. In short, they are “reactors” where reactions involving living organisms or their products (e.g., enzymes) take place.
In a bioreactor, factors such as the following can be precisely controlled:
- temperature,
- pH,
- oxygen concentration,
- nutrient concentration,
- mixing and aeration.
What to know before you decide on roofing for a composting facility?
